In order to improve Yossi's technology, the start-up people turn to an expert in the field of facial expressions and go to Dr. Ruth Berezovsky.

The 38-year-old, of Russian descent, who spent her best years in academia in the field of facial expressions and nuances but remained without a professorship standard and is facing dismissal from the Technion. It started as a meteoric promise but because of uncompromising attention to detail and because it lacks social intelligence, it was unable to play the political game of the academy and therefore did not establish its place.

The offer to join the start-up is the last lifeline for a career that has come to an end. But what begins as a big thank you for the opportunity becomes increasingly complicated when Ruth's character takes over again when her research findings need to be assimilated into technology. Here, too, she will have a hard time letting go. As a remnant of the Old School, she will want to go down to every detail and will not agree to round corners which will put her in conflict with both Yossi and Lia and Yoni.

Most of all, Ruth wants recognition of the enterprise of her life, but has to face a world where technology always wins and any other human knowledge is inferior to it.
Ruth is divorced and a single mother to a 5-year-old girl. Her ex-husband is not in the picture. She is looking to bring another last child in co-parenting which is another reason for her desire to join the startup because she needs money and also thinks she might find a man more deserving of fatherhood in the high-tech world but here too she is disappointed.
